Who is Dorothy Burdumi?
Dorothy Burdumi launched Dorothy Burdumi Events, Ltd. in 1999, after twelve years at the Rainbow Room, New York City, where she created and developed corporate, charitable, political and special private events for its guests. Recruited by the late Joe Baum from her previous eleven-year stint at Windows on the World in 1987, she brought her polish and professionalism to New York City’s most justly famous party space. Before that, she spent six years as a trained professional chef at the Ceres Restaurant in Philadelphia, where she developed special expertise in natural-foods cuisine. She brings to Dorothy Burdumi Events, Ltd. more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of client relations and of event production.
Ms. Burdumi attended the Windows on the World Wine School, studying under Kevin Zraly, and has created and designed menus with chefs André René and Waldy Malouf. She attended Temple University and Marymount Manhattan College, studying the liberal and theater arts. She has received a Train the Trainers certificate from the Hilton International Hotel Institute of Higher Learning, and is a member of Meeting Professionals International and is a member of the National Association for Female Executives.
Ms. Burdumi designs original jewelry, which has been featured on the covers of several publications including Cosmopolitan, Essence and Women’s Wear Daily, and she has also taught cooking classes. An accomplished writer, she has studied fiction at New York University and has attended the Chilmark writing workshop.

Details are managed from beginning to conclusion: invitations, guest list and responses, signage, programs, place cards, escort cards, gifts, schedule and timing, speeches, conferencing and audio/visual needs. Site selection, decor, menu, ambience, activities and entertainment are chosen to fit the client’s needs.
Since Ms. Burdumi is an experienced manager, with an extensive background in the restaurant and hotel industries, Dorothy Burdumi Events, Ltd. can easily arrange staffing for events as deemed appropriate.
